Privacy Policy

The short version. We collect what you type into the quote form so we can quote your job, and we do not sell it to anyone. We use Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement to see which ads are worth paying for — that sets cookies, and you can opt out.

Who we are

Critical Power Solutions LLC is a licensed electrical contractor in Richmond, Texas, operating as Critical Power Solutions. We install and service standby generators and perform commercial electrical contracting across Greater Houston. Texas Electrical Contractor license TECL #37583.

This policy covers https://criticalpowerhtx.com and the information you give us through it. If you contact us by phone or email instead, the same principles apply to what you tell us.

What we collect

Only what you type into the quote form, and only when you submit it. That is your name, phone number, email address, the property address you want us to look at, the type of work you are asking about, and whatever you write in the message box.

The form also records which page you submitted from and how long the page was open before you submitted. The second one exists to catch automated spam, not to study your behavior.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

This site uses Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement. They set cookies in your browser and tell us which pages were read, roughly where visitors came from, and whether someone who clicked one of our ads went on to request a quote.

We advertise on Google, and that measurement is how we know which ads are worth paying for. We would rather say that plainly than describe it as "improving your experience".

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, also runs its own page-view analytics. It sets no cookies and does not follow you to other websites.

What none of this tells us is who you are. Analytics data is not joined to the enquiry you submit, and we cannot look up an individual person in it.

There is no session recording, no chat widget and no social media pixel on this site.

If you would rather not be measured: every browser can block or clear cookies, Google publishes an opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and you can turn off personalised advertising in your Google account at myadcenter.google.com. You can also email us and we will honour the request — see "Your choices" below.

Visitors in the UK, EEA and Switzerland have all of this switched off by default until they consent, because the law there requires opt-in. In Texas the law requires an opt-out instead, which is what the paragraph above is.

Why we collect it and what we do with it

To respond to your enquiry: to call or email you back, to schedule a site visit, and to prepare a written quote. That is the whole purpose.

We do not sell your information. What you type into the form is not shared for advertising — Google is told that a quote request happened, never who made it. We do not add you to a marketing list without you asking, and we do not send newsletters.

Who else sees your information

Our own staff, to do the work you asked about. Beyond that, only the service providers we need to operate: the host that runs this website and the email service that delivers your enquiry to us. They process it on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for anything else.

Google receives analytics and advertising data from this site — pages viewed, and the fact that a quote request was submitted. It does not receive your name, phone number, email address or property address. Those are sent to us and to nobody else.

If a job requires a permit, the relevant city or county will see the property address and scope, because that is how permitting works. If you finance through a lender, you deal with that lender directly and they have their own privacy policy — we do not see your application, your credit file or the outcome.

We will disclose information if the law requires it, and we will tell you unless we are legally prevented from doing so.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become jobs: we keep them while we might still be useful to you, and no more than two years.

Jobs we carry out: we keep the records for as long as Texas law and our insurance require, which is longer, and which also means we can find your install details years later when you need a part or a warranty claim.

Ask us to delete your enquiry and we will, unless we are required to keep it.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Texas residents have these rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, and we will honour the same requests from anyone regardless of where they live, because drawing that line would be petty.

We do not sell personal data. We do use analytics and advertising measurement, which Texas law treats as targeted advertising, and you have the right to opt out of it. The quickest way is the browser and Google controls listed under "Cookies, analytics and advertising" above. You can also email or call us and ask, and we will confirm when it is done.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Enquiries are transmitted encrypted and stored with access limited to the people who need it.

No system is perfectly secure, and we would rather say that than imply otherwise. Please do not send us payment card details, social security numbers or account passwords through the form — we never need them, and we will never ask for them by email.

Children

This site is aimed at property owners and businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles information, we change this page at the same time and update the date at the top. Material changes will be obvious on the page rather than buried.
